School Contests

Hello Hockey Fans:
On January 6th and 7th, 2006, Hockey Night in Canada’s Don Cherry, Ron MacLean, and Dick Irvin will be in Stephenville to host CBC’s Hockey Day in Canada live from the Stephenville Dome. To help celebrate this special event, the Stephenville Minor Hockey is sponsoring several contests. Prizes will be awarded for thebest entry in each division for all contests.

| 1. Poster Contest: |
Two Divisions: |
Ages 4 to 8
Ages 9 to 11
|
| Draw a poster on 8.5 inch by 11 inch plain, white paper illustrating your favorite hockey moment or player.
|
|
| 2. Essay Contest: |
Three Divisions: |
Ages 9 to 11
Ages 12 to 14
Ages 15 to 17
|
| Write a 350 word essay on one of the following topics:
- Does hockey promote violence?
- Should women and men play on the same teams?
- Should hockey be a “more” or “less” contact sport?
- Are parents/players taking hockey too seriously?

| 3. Design the wackiest tie for Don Cherry.
|
